Earthquakes, Radioactivity and Volcanoes - God's Judgment

Gen 1:31 "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was VERY GOOD."

Did you ever wonder if God had made everything very good, then where did earthquakes, radioactivity, volcanoes, hurricanes, and what we call natural calamities come from?

We believe that God says what He means and means what He says. So when He says His creation was very good, it truly was indeed. Such natural calamities were not part of that original creation.

We believe when God destroyed the world and saved Noah and his family, the fountains of the great deep broke open.

Gen 7:11 "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were ALL THE FOUNTAINS OF THE GREAT DEEP BROKEN UP, and the windows of heaven were opened."

Earthquakes, radioactivity and volcanoes came about from the breaking up of the earth's crust along the mid-oceanic ridges, plates cracking up, and water and magma came up in great force resulting in what we see as natural calamities today. These are not God's original creation. They are effects of God's judgment on our sin during the days of Noah.

For more information, you can check out Dr Walt Brown's Hydroplate Theory.

There are competing views like Catastrophic Plate Tectonics, etc but we feel Dr Brown's theory is more systematic and complete to explain all these so-called natural calamities which are not so natural but resulting from God's judgment on sin.

Doesn't this deserve another look? If God's creation of the then perfect world was very good, why will it cause suffering to Adam and Eve by earthquakes, radioactivity and volcanoes?

We think not. What do you think?
